Coloured and Crazy Contact Lenses
Alcon, Colourvue & Johnson & Johnson
There are two tabs on this page - one is for Coloured Prescription Lenses and the other is for Coloured Cosmetic Lenses, simply choose the appropriate tab that suits your requirements. It is important to note that cosmetic coloured lenses attract GST, we have included this in the price, whereas lenses with prescription powers are catagorized at a medical device and therefore do not attract GST.
All colour contact lenses that we sell at contactlens.com.au have TGA approval. The Therapeutic Goods Administration ( TGA) is a division of the Australian Government ensures contact lenses intended for sale to Australian customers meet our countrys high standards of quality, safety and performance.
Many colour contact lenses state they have FDA approval, please be aware that this is an American standard and coloured contact lenses sold without the Australian TGA approval are being sold illegally and carry risks for the wearer.
Before you wear colour or contact lenses with crazy designs and have a prescription or are just wearing them for cosmetic purposes it is recommnded that you see an optometrist for an eye examination first. It is important that the health of your eyes are accessed to ensure contact lens wear is not going to cause your eyes health issues that may affect your sight. Eye Tests are often covered by your Medicare Card, however with a contact lens fitting a fee may be incurred.
When you see the Optometrist let them know that you are intending on wearing coloured contact lenses, it would also be helpful if you knew which brand you would like to use. Most Optometrists are familiar with Freshlook coloured contact lenses and the Acuvue Define ranges so will probably have a sample for you to try. If you would like to wear the Colourvue contact lenses we would recommend an OPSM store as they are familiar with the Colourvue range.
