The Discontinuation of Focus Dailies Toric Lenses - What To Do

Focus Dailies All Day Comfort Toric contact lenses will be discontinued and unavailable from the 1 June 2017.  Alcon recommends AquaComfort Plus Dailies Toric lenses as the replacement daily wear lens as they are very similar to the Focus Dailies Toric lenses. The difference lies in the new toric design that improves visual stability plus the addition of extra AquaRelease moisturising agent has been added into the material of the lens that provides up to 16 to 18 hours of lasting comfort.

For some patients with a -1.75 cylinder power, this swap is easy however you may like to try these lenses prior to purchasing them.  We are happy to help you with this by sending you some free samples based on your last prescription, to request your samples please send us an email from our "Contact Us" page.

For those patients who have a -1.50 cylinder power, a a straight forward swap is not an option. You will need to visit your optometrist to ascertain whether to move this power to -1.25 or -1.75, which are the new parameters in the Dailies Aquacomfort Plus Toric lens. However you and your optometrist may feel that a different type of lens might suit your needs better, this is the perfect opportunity to discuss your options with your eye care professional.

The recommended alternative lens is AquaComfort Plus Dailies Toric lenses, they are available in boxes of 30 lenses for $49 and 90 lenses for $119. You can find these lenses at https://www.contactlens.com.au/product-group/daily-disposables/dailies-aqua-comfort-plus

If you and your Eye Care Professional have chosen another lens type, you can still purchase them online, view our full range of contact lenses or use our search facility on the home page, alternatively give us a call and we'll set up your new lens details for you and send you an easy ordering link.
